Brandyn Strong Medical Fund

My name is Carrie, a good friend of Melissa's (Brandyn's mom).  In May of 2014, Brandyn (now 13), was diagnosed with Embryonal Rhabdomayosarcoma to the right lower jaw in which the cancer destroyed his jaw.  Admitted to the hospital PICU and put in a coma he started treatment right away...the first chemo did not work and the cancer continued to grow. Stronger chemo was used and he needed to start radiation earlier than planned. He received a tracheotomy and started radiation. He had a reaction to one of the chemotherapy drugs and doctors weren't sure if he would ever walk again. The cancer being in his jaw caused Brandyn to be unable to eat by mouth. His parents blend real nutritious food and push it through his G tube.

On April 2015, Brandyn kicked cancers butt, but is now in the recovery process. He wears leg braces and has intense physical therapy learning to walk again. He will be having multiple jaw surgeries to recontruct his jaw back to normal. His journey is far from over as he has had many complications along the way.

As you can imagine this has put a financial stress on the family as mom is taking special care of Brandyn and his two siblings on a daily basis. Dad is working very hard trying to keep things afloat.

Multiple trips to Los Angeles continue for tests, scans,doctor appointments and numerous surgeries still ahead, pt, speech, medical supplies etc. It is my hope that we can help raise enough money to help this beautiful family out with financial needs.
