June of this year I found a lump in my right breast and come to find out after having a mammogram, ultrasound and biopsy that I now have Stage 2 Breast Cancer. My cancer is Invasive Ductal Carcinoma.
This came as a great shock to both me and my family, as I am only 43 years old. I have to do 16 treatments of chemo first to hopefully shrink the 6 cm size tumor before surgery and last radiation. Tons of questions went through my mind but the main question is how am I going to afford to get all of the medical help I need and still take care of my 2 boys financially?
I have been having to lean on my Mom both emotionally and financially during a period in time when she should be leaning on me.
I am trying to work as much as I can during this time, but for obvious reasons I won't be able to work as much as I would like.
I need to focus on healing and recovery, instead of the stress of medical bills. Prayers and positive energy go a long way, but reality is that I need financial assistance.
