Brandon's fight for sight

Donation protected
Just two months ago, my 24 year old husband Brandon started seeing blurry as opposed to his usual 20/20 vision. He blew it off as bad eyesight and within a couple weeks we decided to go to a Visionworks, thinking he might need glasses. The optometrist told us to immediately see a specialist because what they saw in his initial tests was something they definitely couldn't fix at Visionworks.
We proceeded to go to an ophthalmologist who wanted for us to go immediately to the ER, since he assumed it was a tumor or onset of MS. Since Brandon's scans came back clear, we were told to go to the most prestigious eye institute in the nation, Bascom Palmer. 6 MRIs, 1 lumbar puncture, 4 days of steroid injections and 2 neuro-ophthalmologist visits later, he got diagnosed with 1/200 vision in his right eye, 20/60 in his good eye, and a genetic disease called Leber's Hereditary Optic Neuropathy (LHON).
This disease is incurable and his vision will only get worse, leaving him legally blind. Hopefully he qualifies for a clinical trial in Philadelphia, which would be in December and with the help of gene therapy, partial vision could be restored. We are currently dealing with day to day bills, on top of medical expenses, the uncertainty of job stability, transportation, and child care. Anything helps, and we would also love to raise awareness to LHON, as only 2/100,000 people are diagnosed with this. Thanks so much for your support. Love, Brandon, Milan, our 22 month old daughter Lorelei, and our growing 2nd daughter due in April.
