My name is Michelle Wiley, I am the mother and caregiver of Brandon Wiley. I've worked in healthcare for over 30 years, I've dedicated my life to helping and healing others. Nothing in my career prepared me to witness how devastating and debilitating this disease can be. Hidradenitis Suppurativa (HS) is an autoimmune disorder that causes the body's immune response to attack itself. Horrible, painful abscesses form and are destroying his mobility, his ability to make a living, and even be involved in raising his son. HS is not just a physical condition, it destroys hope and causes depression that is painful to watch. Unfortunately, there is no known cure, but we hope to put the disease in remission. This will take multiple visits to specialists, possibly surgery(s), and clinical trials if available. As a family, we are committed to finding treatments and eventually a cure but desperately need financial assistance to meet his ongoing medical and personal expenses.
