Brandon and Melissa Tornado Relief
East Nashville was unexpectedly hit with a horrific tornado last night which devastated the homes, workplaces, and vehicles of so many.
Our good friends Melissa and Brandon were inside asleep with their pets Birdie dog and Birdie cat when they awoke to glass breaking and their roof lifting up. Thankfully they are ok and safe. And even though material things are just material, they have lost an insurmountable amount. Most devastatingly was Brandon’s van, their mattress, and tragically their beloved home.
If you have met Brandon or Mel you know you were always welcome at their house. Their home was a cornerstone to our close knit friend group. A resting and meeting place, a central part of so many birthdays, anniversaries, holidays and board game nights. It hosted many of us for many of an occasion and losing it has been heartbreaking.
They are constants in the East Nashville community, long time family of gold club electric tattoo, you will often see Brandon’s bike parked outside there or Three Crow. They are familiar faces all around town as Brandon runs the golden sound Barista Parlor and Melissa works at Warby Parker. They are not the kind to ask for help but they need it now more than ever.
Right now we are raising money to help Brandon buy a new car as his bike is now his only mode of transportation. We are also putting some funds towards the purchase of a new mattress, sheets, food and a partial deposit for a house since their home has been condemned .
They are a generous kind hardworking couple blindsided by this disaster and deserve all the love we can share. Thank you so much.
