Brando' Road to Recovery

Donation protected
In case you're wondering who I am, my name is Rhiannon Wallace and I am on a mission to help raise much needed funds to assist Brandon Demmery after his horrific accident. I am a close friend of the Demmery's, I have assisted them over time with Sponsorship Advice for their team. Living in Tweed Heads South there is little I can do to assist the family physically, so O created this campaign authorised by Mick Demmery, Brandon's father. As the bills keep rolling in.

Brando is a young, up and coming Australian Superbike Champion. After a lot of pressure to back up his Championship win for the 2016 over 300cc ASBK series, then invited to spend time in Europe to learn from the great Valentino Russi earlier this year - 2017 has ended in a horrific crash for our Brando, incurring him serious injuries and several surgeries to get him back on his feet.

On Sunday whilst in the heat of the final race in the over 300cc production series at the Phillip Island MotoGP, Brandon was taken out in the blink of an eye, which resulted in not only a terrifying crash, but 3 bikes riding over the top of him in the process.

Working from the ground up of his injuries confirmed thus far at the Alfred Hospital in Melbourne, by his father Michael Demmery, he told me "He has sustained a double compound fracture of the Tibia and Fibia and has so far undergone surgery to have a rod inserted, plated and screwed. To add to the legs he has a compound fracture of the Femur, which is booked in for surgery to rod and plate the bone.

He has multiple breaks in his pelvis, which he was scheduled for surgery today (Wednesday) to plate and screw everything back together. At present, he has an external fixation stabilising his pelvis. His right wrist is broken and scheduled to be plated and screwed today also.

Torn bladder. They are hoping it will heal itself over coming days. He has undergone multiple blood transfusions and plasma . He has developed a fever bought on by an infection which may delay scheduled operations...

Black eye and a concussion along with a huge amount of bruising. He also has a lot of skin off on elbows, shoulders knees etc.

Diagnosis is for a full recovery. He will initially be required to be in a wheel chair for 3 months and also undergo extensive rehabilitation.

Brandon is aiming to be on the start grid at Phillip Island for WSBK support at the end of February. Don’t count him out yet. I know how tough and determined he is, if anyone can bounce back from this it's Brando."

Please help the Demmery family and our super strong Brandon to get on the road to recovery in no time. There is no doubt about it that these surgeries are not only expensive but take a lot of time to recover from - which leaves Brandon out of a job for several months as he aids his recovery and devotes all of his spare time to extensive rehabilitation.

All donations will go straight to aid the huge medical expenses that are piling up and their Health Insurance won't cover, such as:
- On going Rehabilitation (currently 5x sessions per week at $360 per session!!)
- Air ambulance fees ($10,747)
- Costs of further upcoming treatments and surgeries to remove rods and screws where necessary
- Help cover mobility aids such as wheelchair, Motorised scooter and so on.
Go Fund Me account is linked directly to Mick Demmery to manage the funds and allocate where required on Brandon's behalf.

Thank you all for your assistance and consideration. Every little bit helps!
