Am Freitag wurde durch einen Brandanschlag der Friseursalon Akwaaba Hair & Art Studio in Erkrath zerstört und damit auch der Existenz und Schaffensort von Jenny und Sidney.
Beide sind Geschäftspartner:innen, die mit all ihrer Kraft, ihrem Geld und ihrem Können einen safe space für Menschen mit Afro Haaren geschaffen haben. Einen Ort für Empowerment, Education und Entspannung.
Alles im Geschäft ist zerstört, der Ort, an dem sie arbeiten. Beide können ihre Existenz nicht mehr sichern: ihre Miete nicht zahlen, offene Rechnungen nicht beglichen, nicht mehr arbeiten, um Geld zu verdienen. Wer weiß, wann und ob Geld aus der Versicherung fließen wird und wie lange die Aufklärung bei der Polizei andauert.

On Friday Akwaaba Hair & Art Studio in Erkrath was set on fire and destroyed the workplace of Jenny and Sidney.
Both are role models, business partners and young parents who put all their strength, money and craft into this dream to create a safe space for people with afro hair. A platform for empowerment, education and relaxation.
Now everything is gone, the space to work in is destroyed. From now on they can not secure their financial existence, they are not able to pay their rent or bills, no money will be generated, because there is no room to work in. Who knows when and if the insurance will pay and how long it will take to find the people who did that.
