Brakes will break me

I took my car in today because of a knocking sound every time I press the brake pedal. Turns out everything is screwed and I need a ton of money's worth of work done.

While I can technically afford this, I'd be pulling heavily from my savings and be in a much worse spot. It would mean a lot if I could have any help.
