Doctors Fees & Convalescence

A very good friend of mine, a father of a large family, had severe headaches over last Shabbos (פרשת נשא) and went into Hospital early Sunday morning, after various tests and scans he was diagnosed with a growth in the brain and due to the extreme urgency of the situation he was operated on early Tuesday morning in Hadassah Hospital in ירושלים. The growth was ברוך השם benign (not cancerous) and was removed successfully.
He was released from hospital early this week, but due to the position of the growth his eyesight has been slightly affected and that may have a long term effect. The doctors are talking positively about returning to a normal life after a few months of rest but at the moment he is not allowed to work at all.
The cost of the private Surgeon, the operating room and operating staff alone, was over 110,000 shekel (£25,000) and there was still follow up appointments, scans and blood tests that are going to incur further expenses.
Medical insurance will cover some of the costs, but I am looking to raise £40,000 to take away all the extra financial pressure from the family and leave them with clear heads to look after their family member until he is back to himself.
I know that there are a lot of important causes out there to support, i am not looking for large donations. £10, £18, £36 all add up to make the final figure.
