Brady's Battle with GBS

Donation protected
Brady has been diagnosed with GBS. Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS) is a rare neurological disorder in which the body's immune system mistakenly attacks part of its peripheral nervous system—the network of nerves located outside of the brain and spinal cord. Only 1-2 in every 100,000 people are affected each year.  People of all ages can be affected, but it is more common in adults and in males. Most people recover fully from even the most severe cases of Guillain-Barré syndrome.  Symptoms of GBS include tingling or prickling sensations in your fingers and toes, muscle weakness that travels to your upper body that gets worse over time, difficulty walking, difficulty moving your eyes or face, talking, chewing, or swallowing and severe lower back pain. Full paralysis may even occur.  *********FROM THE BEGINNING ************** *Friday, December 27th,  2019 after he came home from work, Brady complained about muscle aches. He thought he was getting sick. Later that night, he went to get Advil for his headache... he dropped the pill on the floor and when he reached down to pick it up... He collapsed.  *Saturday, December 28th, 2019  his hands and feet were tingling, having trouble walking, and fell in his room and down the steps on his way to the ER.  They did a cat scan and it came back normal so they sent him home. No blood work. No additional tests.   *Sunday, December 29th, 2019, Brady woke up feeling worse and couldn't stand on his own.  His family took him back to the ER where they ran more tests. They then decided to transfer him to a neurologist for observation. That night they did blood work, MRI,  ultrasound, another cat scan, and several other tests to try and diagnose him. All tests came back negative.  *Tuesday, December 31st, 2019 His family & friends came to celebrate New Years Eve. While his team, as a last resort, decided to give Brady a spinal tap. Specifically to test for Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS). About 4-5 hours after his spinal tap... Results officially came back positive for GBS.   *Wednesday, January 1, 2020. The start of a new year, and the start of a long and hard recovery for Brady.  His best friend, Hayley, had a moment alone to talk with Brady about his condition. They decided together to document his progress so he can look back at how far he comes with his recovery.  (These photos and videos will only be posted with approval from Brady himself, as this documentation is personally for him. Any questions, or updates should be directed to his family.)  Later on New Year's Day... Brady was progressively getting worse until his heart rate reached 150, had a fever, and had immense chest pains and trouble breathing.  He was taken to the ICU at this time.  His nerves are inflamed throughout his whole body. And he is very immobile and has trouble with even small tasks and functions as of right now. He is currently trying PT and exercises to keep his muscles active.   ******DAILY UPDATE****** DATE: 1/2/2020 Brady is currently in the ICU, stable, and with high hopes. His chest pain has subsided minimally and continuing to work with Physical/ Speech /Occupational Therapists. He is working so passionately to improve his motor skills.  Doctors still think there is a probability of more downs before he can start rehabilitation.  He may eventually need a ventilator and feeding tube if his symptoms worsen. They are preparing for all outcomes, and taking care of him 24/7.  ******TREATMENTS, MEDICATION & COSTS****** His treatment (ImmunoG) to ease his pain in order for him to improve is noticeably helping him. It is a natural whole food that provides a rich source of IgG and PRPs (Proline-Rich Polypeptides). It also supplies protein, immune factors, growth factors, vitamins and minerals to ensure health and vitality naturally. Unfortunately,  can run up to $5,000 - $10,000 for EACH dose.  Insurance will only be able to partially cover costs for all medical expenses , not just medications.  ********** DONATIONS & SUPPORT ************ Brady just recently graduated from Penn State May 2019. He started an IT job in the last few months that was his ideal work environment. This was a sudden life upheaval for Brady and all of those close to him. Even the fastest recovery could take months a to year (or longer). Please keep him in your thoughts. Please, if you are willing, consider donating to Brady's Battle with GBS. As this is a hard time on him, his family, and friends. Please give in any way you can whether it be here,  thoughts & prayers or sending kind words. Any amount is appreciated. For more information or questions, we will be posting daily updates when able.  Thank you all for your support during this long and  difficult battle for Brady and his family.
