Help the Bradshaws get home

Donation protected

These are the Bradshaws. Amy, Dwan, Alex, Dwan Jr., Andrew, and their dog, Echo. They’ve been married for ten years.
They have three of the nicest, most respectful boys you’ll find.

They adopted their dog from an animal rescue a few years ago.

They both work hard and on top of that, Dwan coaches football and Amy somehow manages time to be my best friend. They’re good neighbors and great people. They’re an asset to our community.

Last year their hard work paid off and they bought their dream home together. Room for their boys to grow. The place they planned to stay forever. Wednesday, high winds and a tall tree, displaced them. The city immediately condemned their home. They are all OK. No one was hurt. A tree service removed the tree yesterday. An insurance adjuster estimated the damage at over $100,000 if a complete teardown isn’t necessary. A structural engineer will decide that today.

They are responsible people. Their insurance will cover the damage and a hotel while the work is done. They are grateful and thankful and proud and they would never ask for help for themselves. But they’ve got to pay their deductible. They’ve got a long haul of living in a two hotel rooms with five people. Three growing boys. The boys can’t take the bus to school anymore. Echo can’t stay with them. They’re farther from work. They will be reimbursed some costs but they have to pay upfront and wait for that to happen.

I told Amy last night that I was going to do this and she’s already messaged me to tell me that she saw a gofundme for a family that has it worse than they do from this wind storm. She took the time while packing up their hotel rooms, to leave all their possessions at the front desk because they have to move into different rooms. Before she drives three kids to school because they can’t take the bus. She's not sure they deserve the help, but I am. And I know many of you know and love them as much as I do. Let's help keep them going while they wait to return to their dream home.
