"Use the Force!" and help support our good friend and co-worker Brad Hogge as he recovers from a Subdural Hematoma brought on by a dangerous Lightsaber fight with the one and only Darth Vader. :) All kidding aside, lets all join our forces together and help Brad through this difficult time, and give him New Hope.
Back in July, Brad was having terrible headaches and nausea. After going to the doctor and having an X-Ray, MRI, Cerebral Angiogram and a CT scan they found a subdural hematoma. (A subdural hematoma is a pool of blood between the brain and the skull, usually the result of a head injury) They still aren't sure exactly how or when the head injury happened.
Subdural hematomas can get very serious the more pressure they put on the brain. He was hospitalized for a couple of weeks as the doctors monitored the bleed, and although he is released now, he hasn't been able to get back to work yet, and is only allowed to lift 5lbs.
He is waiting to hear if the doctor recommends surgery, or if he will continue to give it time and let the bleed drain on its own - with lots of rest. He had his third CT scan today 8/30, and will give us an update once that has been read.
That being said, since Brad hasn't been able to work for the last 6 weeks, his medical bills and everyday expenses (think rent, phone, groceries) are starting to pile up. Let's help him get back on his feet and give him all the support we can!
Brad will keep us updated on his situation; he is still having pretty bad headaches, is unable to sleep well due to the medications, and has had seizures and trouble using the left side of his body. We want to see him get better and money is the last thing he should be worrying about! Please help our good friend with anything you can. Any amount helps!
