Brad Hale vs. ALS

Donation protected
After 10 years of living, working, socializing, and recreating in our beloved town of Cambria, our good friends Brad and Vicky decided to move to Gold Beach, Oregon to afford a better lifestyle and eventually buy a house. Within a year he started to experience some minor difficulties with simple dexterity.  After a battery of tests, it was determined that Brad has ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis), otherwise known as Lou Gehrig's disease.

Within three years he has become completely immobile, wheelchair bound, and unable to speak. He can communicate using a computer controlled retinal recognition system, although nothing short of frustrating for him as it is very time consuming. As yet, there is no known cure, however required treatment has reached the point of 24 hour care.

Time is of the essence, and funds from this campaign will help afford the necessary 24 hour care that he requires along with deferred medical expenses that are not currently covered under Medicare and private medical insurance.  Additionally, in her efforts to provide the care he needs, Vicky has suffered physical injury to her back, which may require surgery, along with the emotional drain of watching the man she loves, who was once a vital and athletic guy, wither away.

The situation is beyond critical at this point as much of what is already being done has yet to be paid for to date. Going forward, any and all donations are humbly appreciated and will be gratefully accepted, including simply prayers and encouragement. Brad is able to email and text and would welcome hearing from those whose lives he's touched. He can be reached at [email redacted]. Please join us in this campaign for someone who has meant so much to us and who deserves the care he so desperately needs. Thank you!

P.S.  Rob Maston created this campaign but the funds will be managed by Brad’s brother, Bart Hale.
