In November 2017, lifetime Fargoan, Brad Snell(husband, father to 3, grandfather to 4, and friend to many)was found to have stage III lung cancer.
Brad’s lung scan showed a 5 cm spot on his right upper lung. After tests, it was confirmed to be Stage III non-small cell lung cancer. He underwent an MRI, PET scan, pulmonary test and endoscopy biopsy. These additional tests showed cancer in his lymph nodes lung wall and his lower right lung. Doctors also gave him the unwanted news with a diagnosis of COPD and emphysema.
After several visits to Sanford Health Roger Maris Cancer center it was determined what treatment options Brad would undergo. His first chemotherapy/radiation treatment began January 15, 2018. The plan includes that every Monday, for 6 weeks, he is given chemo. Radiation treatments were 5 days a week for 6 weeks. After the initial chemo treatment he is given a 3 week break before starting a slow release dose of chemotherapy, once every 3 weeks, for 2 doses. Post chemotherapy/radiation treatments he will start immunotherapy once every 2 weeks, for a year.
We all know how long it takes for a doctor’s appointment. Brad has had to take time off work during the week for his treatments, procedures and follow-ups. Since he relies on commissions as a major part of his salary, missed time off work, has impacted his income. During this time, medical bills have started to accumulate. Having cancer is enough of a burden without adding additional financial strains.
A GoFundMe page is being set up to help Brad with the financial end of his illness. Brad and Nancy would both be more than appreciative of any donations that you feel you would like to give. They also would like to ask for prayers for Brad, the family and Brad’s doctor’s.
