Brad Needs a New Computer
Let me make a long story short: I need a new computer.
My ex is going to be taking my iMac, which is technically hers, because it’s under her name and — up until recently unbeknownst to me — she’s still making monthly payments on it. She needs it for her photography business, which I get, and even if I didn’t, I don’t seem to have a leg to stand on.
Speaking of not having legs to stand on, I’m disabled and in a wheelchair. I have a very severe autoimmune disease that has crippled my whole body, and thanks to COVID, I’ve been tethered to my home these past seven months because I’m on immunosuppressants.
My life is on that computer. My writings, my photos, and even my music collection. All the videos I made in my pre-disabled past life as a video editor are on that computer. It’s how I stay connected to my friends and family during quarantine, and even how I attend most of my many doctor appointments these days.
To avoid upending my life, I need a new (or refurbished) computer, but I can’t afford one. Any money donated will be spent on a new or refurbished iMac, which should last me most of the decade.
I appreciate any help.
