Brad Barnes Cancer Fund

On Tuesday, 4/10/18, Brad was diagnosed with cancer. He is scheduled for surgery on Tuesday 4/17 to remove the mass. As many of you know, Brad is too proud to ask for help so I am doing this on his behalf. I know the cost of his treatment is weighing heavily on his mind.
If by reading this you are just finding out, we apologize, things are moving super fast and we have barely had the opportunity to tell family. To put your mind at ease, the doctors found it very early and do not seem concerned for his life. Just know we love you all and Brad wishes he could have let you all know individually.
Brad’s insurance will cover a majority of the surgery and treatment but he is confident that he will reach the out of pocket max of $6000 per year very quickly, and we are not sure if his treatment will carry into next year’s insurance deductibles.

Just a little about Brad:
Brad is an amazing and loving person especially to those closest to him or those in need. He absolutely loves sports and most of all his Aztecs. Brad works on SDSU’s campus as the branch manager for U.S. Bank where he has the unique opportunity to give back to the student community. He is a member of the SDSU’s Economic Crisis Response Team where he helps students in need to find help financially and emotionally to get back on their feet. He is also is an advisor for the Zahn Innovation Center where he has helped guide SDSU’s start up business’ toward financial success. Brad works with the Guardian Scholars program on campus by teaching budgeting courses and providing one on one support to students adjusting to college life. He also helped develop and presents the sophomore success program that teaches a wide range of financial topics to the SDSU community. In short, Brad loves to give back to his alma matter and is a true Aztec for Life.
Brad lives a very selfless life and spends a lot of his time and resources on people that are down on their luck. He has opened his home to strangers and treated them as family to show them a better life and what true family is. He loves his family and his close group of friends. He would give his shirt off his back to someone in need and has proven this time and time again. He’s gone out of way to make people’s lives better and now I want to do the same for him. We understand that not everyone is in the position to give but if you can share this and send prayers Brad’s way it would be much appreciated. Brad sends his love and assures you he will pull through this stronger than ever.
Please put us in your prayers! ✌️
