Two wonderful people - Two Life Threatening Emergencies

Within Months of Each Other

Brad, an Army veteran (1979-1983) became a paraplegic on New Years eve 1999/2000 due to Transverse Myelitis. He still worked part time until he suffered a massive heart attack on Dec 20th 2017. He has been unable to work since then. He had a  pacemaker/defibrillator installed on April 19th 2018.

Two and a half weeks later, his wife Lisa got sick. She’s his loving wife of almost 34 years. A great mom. And all around wonderful woman.Lisa underwent emergency surgery and due to her health issues went into Septic Shock and was in ICU on life support. The fear and threat of losing her was very real. Thankfully, she did not succumb to Sepsis and after a long time in the hospital is home recovering.

Prior to her health emergency, Lisa worked 7 days a week, as a School Bus driver f/t, and as a receptionist at a car dealership on weekends. Right now, neither Lisa nor Brad are able to work.

They have done what they can to minimize their expenses and bring in some cash flow. Brad sold his vehicle in March to save money. They still have Lisa's car in order to get to doctors appointments and the grocery store.

They are kind and proud people who need a helping hand during this time. The money will be spent on survival. Prescription co payments ( their RX co payment is over $350 alone) Food, utilities, car payment etc. Lisa's Long Term Disability insurance will not be available to her until September and this leaves them in a dire financial situation.

Recovery from either of these medical events is intense, for it to happen to a couple so closely together is even more difficult to manage, mentally, emotionally and financially. Let us join together to help with the financial worries so they can focus on healing.

Every little bit helps and means so much.
