Ngala Kane - 2014 Debutante Scholarship

Greetings Family and Friends. My name is Ngala R. Kane, daughter of Thomiquea Kane (Cobb) and Alioune Kane, and I am pleased to announce that I have been selected to participate in the 2014 Debutante Scholarship Program, sponsored by the Alpha Theta Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., in Raleigh, NC. For the past 76 years Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. has presented the Debutante Ball as a means of encouraging high scholastic achievement among young ladies. This event is part of the sorority's effort to award scholarships to individuals who have shown outstanding achievement in academics, leadership, and service. As a Debutante, I will have the opportunity to participate in a series of educational, cultural, and civic activities, while campaigning for scholarships towards my post-secondary education.
As a participant in this program, I am committed to monthly meetings, events and activities, as well as community service. Also, I participate in leadership workshops that provide business and entrepreneurial experiences, etiquette and presentational training, as well as spiritual growth and enlightenment.
Furthermore, I am also responsible for fundraising that will contribute to scholarship opportunities for my education. The finale of this program is highlighted with the 77th Debutante Scholarship Ball on Friday, November 28, 2014. This is where I make my formal debut into society.
Currently I am an Honor/Advanced Placement Senior at Broughton High School. After high school, I plan to attend James Madison University with aspirations of becoming an Anesthesiologist. It is for this reason that I am reaching out to you to serve as a patron on my behalf. I am honored to be selected into this program and your contribution would be of great assistance in helping me accomplish my educational goals. Your sponsorship listing will show your dedication to my academic and personal achievements.
