Update on Cherisse Bastian Jaeger
Cherisse Bastian Jaeger had an additional surgery on July 30, 2014 to prepare her mouth for radiation therapy. Her last two top teeth were removed and the original skin grafts were stretched to cover all the exposed bone from the prior surgery so it would get nutrition and protection from the radiation. She will have chemotherapy on Mondays and radiation therapy Monday through Friday for 6 weeks. In the meantime, she has stayed positive and upbeat, cracking jokes and keeping her sense of humor. She is grateful for all the love and blessings that you have sent. She continues to use the feeding tube through her stomach for nutrition but if she can get a prosthesis she will be able to eat again. We are very hopeful for that and should know after her mouth heals, probably sometime in December.
