Golden Age Games
Donation protected
My name is Richard Lilien and I am a 90-year-old World War II veteran. I am wheelchair-bound and I live in the spinal cord injury unit of the James A. Haley VA hospital in Tampa, Florida. I am trying to raise $2,600 in order to participate in this year’s 31st National Veterans Golden Age Games (NVGAG) to be held in Biloxi, Mississippi on May 7 through the 11th. The Golden Age Games are a form of handicapped Olympics for disabled veterans over the age of 55. If successful, I hope to compete in Bocce ball, shuffleboard, air rifle, and bowling. The Tampa VA’s budget does not allow them to pay for my trip, so the only way I can participate in this very worthwhile endeavor is to solicit for donations. The opportunity to compete would be a dream comes true!
