School Reading Books

We urgently need your help to raise £3,000 for new reading books for Powell Corderoy Primary School.

 

The school has recently made dramatic changes to the teaching of reading and phonics, to comply with the latest government guidance. We've also restructured our entire curriculum for all subjects to ensure that high quality literature is part of every subject, and the books we choose represent everyone in our school.

 

Whilst we're delighted that our new approach is supported by latest research and is already showing a positive impact, the government has provided no additional funding to support the required changes.

 

Ensuring children have good quality, real books to support their learning is something we consider extremely important. Teachers have spent a great deal of time and effort sourcing the right books for our exciting new curriculum, but don't have the funds to buy them. We would be hugely grateful for any donation, however big or small.
