On August 12, 2020, my immediate family was diagnosed with COVID-19, which included my beloved mother ( pictured above), Grandmother, two Aunts, my 2- month old daughter, and myself.  The entire month was very exhausting, to say the least, with everyone fighting the virus, as well as trying to help each other gain their strength back.  Unbeknownst, my mother went into the hospital to receive treatment immediately return home.  What was though to be a short visit ultimately resulted in an ICU placement, along with her mother, who both ferociously fought the virus.

My mother's battle continued on for weeks until her untimely passing on September 4, 2020.  That following day, September 5, my Grandmother,  passed away as well.

Although all of my family members whom I mentioned earlier including myself recovered,  it was absolutely devastating to lose my Mother and Grandmother.  Before my Mother's transition, she would go to different food drives to feed people in the neighborhood and surrounding areas.  She would do this every week, under any circumstance, up until she fell ill.

In honor of my mother's joyful service to this cause, I would like to continue her Samaritan spirit and feed our community for the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays.  It is my goal to feed at least 100 families.

If I am able to wage the support needed to make some families happy this holiday season, it will give me an outlook on the resources it would take to eventually start my own food drive.  I know for a fact my mom would be proud.  She was a very benevolent and noblewoman during her presence on Earth, and continuing her legacy would bring me the same joy she experienced, as I continue her mission.
