They both suffered serious injuries, which required multiple surgeries and time in the hospital. Recovering from those injuries has caused them to take time away from work to heal and will require months of physical therapy, as well as counseling to help them move past this ordeal.
If you have been wondering how you can help them, please consider making a donation to help with not only their living expenses while recuperating, but also the hefty medical bills that are soon to follow. While He has coverage through work, She recently started a new position and is still in the probationary period and is not eligible for coverage or short-term disability. Her medical insurance (through a family member) will partially cover her injuries because it was an emergency situation. But unfortunatley, since She is the one with the majority of the bills, there is a lot that is not covered by insurance.
Any amount donated will be very much appreciated and will help them enormously in getting back to normal. Feel free to share the link with friends who would also like to help. Our one request, and it’s an important one, is that none of the comments or shares mention any additional personal information about our friends. It's so important that we keep their names and the details of the assault private because the shooter is still at large.
