Clifton's new start

Donation protected
I have a friend who is having a tough time of it.

He's been working his soul out recently, often 12 hours days in the sleet and snow, always outside and 6 days a week.

He's been saving so that he can start a new business and branch out on his own (and hopefully not have to work in such tough conditions all the time).

Today he went to go and get a bank loan and was declined.

He had a loan for his previous business, a cafe which was doing really well, but he got ill and was unable to continue working.

Cancer came along and stole the business and made the repayments impossible.  He got black listed and written off.  But because the repayments still needed to happen, he had to go back to work far sooner than I think he should have.

And quite frankly I am heartbroken.  He's been working so hard to build himself up to make  a fresh start, and has just been slapped in the face by compassionless bankers.  It feels so wrong to have gone through  something like this and recovery only to have opportunities snatched away.

So I had a thought: could we all club together and give someone the chance of a bit of a break?  I know this has been a really tough year for a lot of people, but wouldn't it be an incredible thing if the last residue of 2017 was that we made someone's dream be able to bloom?  That instead of having our destinies determind by these big institutions that have no heart, that we could pull together and remind each other of the incredible amount of kindness and generosity of strangers around the world.  Wouldn't it be amazing if the last thing we left in 2017 was giving someone a fresh start?

Can you help me pull this one out of the bag?  He needs a van and tools and insurance to start up as a tradesman on his own.

If we all chipped in a few quid we could empower someone to start a whole new chapter.

And even if you can't spare a donation, please could you share this campaign?

What an incredible way to end a really hard year this could be.
