<div><em>boy: a new musical</em> is a powerful story of resilience, loss, and healing. After the death of his father, Peter’s mother moves him and his sister to a new town for a fresh start. Though struggling with the change, Peter finds solace in a growing connection with family friend and town Pastor, who seems to fill the void left behind- until the relationship takes a dark turn, forcing him to navigate trauma and self-discovery. With courage, love, and unexpected support, Peter learns he is not alone in his journey toward healing.

<div>With book/lyrics by Jonny Sangster, music/lyrics by Matthew Hornbeck, direction by Matt DiCarlo (Associate Director for Moulin Rouge! The Musical [Broadway, North American Tour &amp; Seoul, South Korea]. He staged the Off-Broadway, Chicago, and North American Touring productions of The Play That Goes Wrong and restaged the Broadway production of Beetlejuice for its premiere run in Seoul, South Korea.), and orchestrations by D Klintworth, this concept album is the next step in bringing boy to life.

<div><strong>What We Need &amp; What You Get</strong>

<div>Making is album will cost around $30,000. It's a BIG number, and trust us, our knees buckle too when we see it.

<div>So, we are starting off knowing we need to raise half of that from our various crowd funding campaigns!

<div>We know that's A LOT, and we know that with everything going on in the world right now, it's difficult to ask people to care enough about an album to want to contribute enough to reach such a lofty goal. We get it! We will be focusing on trying our best to secure the other half from investors, producers, and other industry professionals in the business.

<div>So, we thought, "how can we make this album, not spending over $50,000 to do it, but without losing the integrity of the story, and keep quality that we the <em>boy</em> team and our partners at Joy Machine Records want to uphold?"

<div>We sat with this for a very long time, and came up what we think will be a feasible plan, and something we will be extremely proud to give to our audiences.

<div>The grand total will pay for at least a 12 track concept album where we can record live musicians and incredible vocalists and talent! It will also pay for needed rehearsal studios, booking recording studio time, paying a studio engineer, production fees that includes a music producer to mix/master the album, printing sheet music, and marketing and PR to help get this album, and ultimately this show, in front of as many people as possible! We have a lot of incredible artists on our side. So many people who WANT to see this album come to fruition, and some who have even agreed to volunteer their time and talents to make it happen, but there is so much more that goes in to making this a reality!

<div>We’ve already proven that there’s an audience for this show. Thanks to previous fundraising efforts, we successfully debuted <em>boy</em> at The GreenRoom 42 in New York City, where we brought in a live audience and reached viewers across the country via livestream. That concert, along with other readings and workshops, has helped us refine the show, shaping it into something truly special.
