Boxes to the Bahamas Initiative

We have witnessed in disbelief the destruction that has been created by the catastrophic storm Hurricane Dorian. In the wake of this disaster, the Bahamian islands of Abaco and Grand Bahama have been left in a state of complete devastation. Many have been left homeless; businesses have been destroyed and loved ones displaced. With the full extent of the damages remaining unknown, the Bahamian students and residents in Northwest Arkansas along with our non-profit partner in Springdale, the International Youth Education and Sports (iYES) Foundation have decided to respond by collecting donations to purchase education supplies.

Our belief is that at some point throughout the restoration process, students will have to return to school whether locally on Abaco, Grand Bahama or on another island in the Bahamas. Therefore, we believe that this niche project will help ease the mind of parents and properly equip severely affected students.  

With most tragedies, the most immediate and direct support is monetary. We have created a target of $10,000 that will be used to purchase all-inclusive school boxes that will aid ~200 students at the cost of $50/box. 

Alternatively, we understand that individuals may be more willing to donate supplies that they already possess. To avoid a potential logistical nightmare, we are asking that these goods be sent to the Bahamas Consulate (Atlanta) who will assist with the proper distribution channels to transport them in the Bahamas.
