Bows for Bowman Medical Fund

Emily Bowman was critically injured when struck by an alleged drunk driver on February 16th, 2013 as she was walking to a friend's house. She has suffered a severe traumatic brain injury and has not been able to speak since the accident. She has undergone several surgeries including a permanent brain shunt and feeding tube. With the help of Emily's parents and nurses, she is able to travel to the Shepherd Center/Pathways through their outpatient program to receive her therapies. This page was created to help her family with all of the expenses involved to get our Emily back. We miss her terribly, and we know with all of your donations, the excellent therapy she is receiving, and most importantly God, we will have our sweet girl back. Emily currently walks mainly with a cane but can walk short distances without it.  She doesn’t  have functional use of her left hand yet but small things seem to be happening.  We are currently seeing a functional neurologist who seems to be helping As we are seeing small improvements.  Unfortunately it is not covered by insurance  so it’s all out of pocket.   We have already spent thousands of dollars with him but not sure how long we can keep this up?  She may also get to attend KSU again in a program for the disabled where she would receive a certificate but could eventually stay on campus.  This will be for Fall 2018 but right now she is on the waiting list but chances I pray are good for her!  We thank you so much for your donations and just know that you will be playing a big part of Emily's recovery and we are so grateful and thankful for all her supporters!
