Bowra Bushfire Help
Donation protected
There have been quite a number of fires raging up and down the NSW North Coast, and unfortunately, my Mum's place was smack-bang in the middle of one of them.
While her, her partner, and one of their goats were lucky enough to escape, their car caught fire whilst evacuating, and the fire tore through their property leaving absolutely nothing at all behind. Livestock, equipment, possessions, sentimental pieces, and properties have all been burned to ashes.
I've set this up as an effort to help Mum, and the surrounding Bowraville community start to rebuild from Friday's destruction, and to hopefully give their spirits a bit of a boost.
It's tough to put an estimate on the costs, as it's likely to enter the tens of millions across dozens of properties, but even a little will go a long way to getting them back on her feet. I've set a lofty figure of around $50,000 which would go a long way toward at least helping them start to rebuild what has been lost.
If you don't wish to give money, you can give some time to helping out the community affected. Even food, equipment, clothing, any day to day living items that you can part with. This has destroyed entire communities and there are a lot of people not only still unaccounted for, but who could also use a helping hand.
No home was rebuilt overnight, so if anyone can afford even a little to help, it would go a very long way!
All funds donated will be withdrawn into my personal account and then all funds will be transferred in full to the Bowraville Lions Club to distribute among those who suffered the most.
The sole surviving livestock-member at my mum's place:
The car they jumped out of after it caught ablaze as they were evacuating
The remnants of what was my mum's home
