BSU takes on Ghana

Hello Family and Friends,

We are participating in a global service learning trip to Ghana in West Africa during the January 2019 winter term.  Our team is working together to raise funds for this once in a lifetime experience to help make a difference in the lives of people of color in the motherland.  We are asking you to help us by donating $10.00  today.  Your money will be allocated for the costs of our airfare, visas, meals, and lodging.  Please click on the link to donate to our GOFundMe account today.  

While in Ghana we will participate in a dynamic series of lectures, discussions, workshops, presentations and tours, and traditional durbars (festivals).  The group will be immersed in the cultural, economic, educational, and psycho-social lives of indigenous people from different regions of the country of Ghana.

Our global service learning project will involve shadowing psychologists and addictions counselors at a local psychiatric hospital in Accra, Ghana.  Our group will also provide tutoring for American English at a local elementary and secondary school in Accra, Ghana.  This will also allow us to learn simple Twi while working with the school aged Ghanaian children.  Twi is a common dialect spoken in Ghana.
