Please Help Me Stay in School

After three years of waiting and trying, I am on my feet again, and now the deadline caught up to me before I could gather all the funds I needed. Would you please help me raise the funds so I can go to college?

They say I was born singing.
I remember one of the first times I sang on stage. I was six years old and I was part of the Original Mexico Cast of "Les Miserables" as little Cossette, produced by Cameron Mackintosh and Morris Gilbert. It was the perfect theatrical experience - I couldn't have asked for anything better. That experience changed my life forever and from then on, I wanted to be on a stage for the rest of my days. I was very good at maintaining that promise to myself in the years to follow, and the loving Universe kept making miracles happen.
Since I was in Elementary School, all the way to High School I participated in many Choral groups, including the State Honor Choirs, formed part of the International Thespian Society, the National Honor Society, won numerous awards and raised money for different causes like Broadway Cares, Breast Cancer Research, and Operation Smile, among others with my voice. When I was in high school, I appeared in shows like "Beauty and the Beast" as Belle, "The Light in the Piazza" as Clara, and "The King and I" as Tuptim, among many others. The Musical Theater programs at my schools were the rhyme and reason to my attending school. All the while, If I wanted to keep performing, I had better made sure to remain an Honor Student. For that, I am also so grateful for so many recognitions such as Academic Achievement Awards, School Spirit Awards, and Presidential Awards. My sophomore year, I was featured in the Presidential Student Award Yearbook for World Language.
If you're still reading (thank you so so much for taking your time!!!!), let me explain why I wrote that whole bio. My senior year of high school, I had an accident that put me in a wheelchair for many months. It made me miss vital moments of my college application process - including the schools that had already invited me to audition. With great effort, my parents put in huge amounts of money on doctors and medical exams to get me back on my feet. It was an extremely difficult time - it became very hard for me, after that, to even want to ever sing again, let alone perform. But with a lot of support, patience, hard work, and infinite love from my family and friends, we accomplished it. I was able to walk again! Fortunately, I was able to graduate high school, and I attempted with all my heart to go to college. But I didn't get to go that year, or the following year - I was missing the funds to reach that goal.
Recently, one of my biggest dreams came true - after the audition, I got accepted into the Boston Conservatory. I have wanted to go to this school for years! And this year, a letter arrived in the mail for me, welcoming me into the Conservatory family. I couldn't have been happier!
But it's a very expensive school. Luckily, I was awarded a scholarship from the conservatory, I got some federal grants and loans, took out private loan money, and put in some of my own to cover my tuition and expenses. My parents are helping me every way possible, but even if they could cover all the expenses, I can't turn to them for the full blow of my schooling because I also have two brothers. I have been trying to go to college for two years now because I know that I have so much to learn and so much to grow. I know I can be better in every way - a better singer, actress, dancer, performer, a better person. I want to be. I need to keep training and challenging myself to be better so I can reach the dreams I have had since I was a very little girl. And I know college is one of the best ways to get there. I just haven't had all the financial means to make it happen so far.
Thank Heavens, I am once again dancing around a stage, doing what I love the most and what I was born to do.
I'm hoping I can finally go to college this year.
     A mentor and close friend of mine suggested I turn to this site for help. I feel so grateful and so humbled to be asking for help this way; one thing my mother always taught me is that we all depend on each other to make our lives happier and better. She couldn't have been more right.

Después de tres años de espera y de intentarlo con todo mi corazón, estoy de pie otra vez, y la fecha límite me alcanzó antes de qué pudiera reunir todos los fondos que necesitaba. Por favor, ¿me ayudarías a recaudar los fondos para poder ir a la Universidad?

Dicen que nací cantando...
Recuerdo una de las primeras veces que canté en un escenario. Tenía seis años y fuí parte del elenco original de "Los Miserables" en México como pequeña Cossette, producida por Cameron Mackintosh y Morris Gilbert. Fue la perfecta experiencia teatral - no podía pedir algo mejor. Esa experiencia cambió mi vida para siempre y desde entonces, quise estar en un escenario por el resto de mis días. Fuí buena manteniendo esa promesa en los años que siguieron, y el amoroso Universo, como siempre, ha hecho que sucedan los milagros.
Desde la Primaria hasta la Preparatoria, participé en muchos grupos de coro, incluyendo los coros de Honor en varios estados, formé parte de la International Thespian Society, y la Sociedad Nacional de Honor. Cantando gané numerosos premios y ayudé a recaudar dinero para diversas causas como Broadway Cares, la Investigación del Cáncer de Mama y Operación Sonrisa (Operation Smile), entre otros.
Cuando estaba en la Preparatoria, participe en Musicales como "La Bella y la Bestia" como Bella, "La Luz en la Plaza" como Clara y "El Rey y Yo" como Tuptim, entre muchos otros. Los programas de Teatro Musical en mis escuelas fueron toda mi motivación para ir a la escuela. Aunque al mismo tiempo, si quería seguir en el teatro, más me valía mantener buenas calificaciones. Por eso, también estoy muy agradecida por tantos reconocimientos como Premios de Aprovechamiento Académico, Premios de School Spirit y premios Presidenciales. En mi segundo año de prepa, estuve en el Anuario Presidencial en la categoría de Idiomas Mundiales.
      Si todavía continuas leyendo (muchísimas gracias por tu tiempo!!!!!!), por favor déjame explicarte porque he escrito esto... En mi último año de preparatoria, tuve un accidente que me puso en una silla de ruedas por muchos meses. Esa época me hizo perder momentos vitales en mi proceso de aplicaciones para las Universidades, aún con aquellas de las cuales había recibido invitación. Mis Padres pusieron, con gran esfuerzo, fuertes sumas para ayudar a mi recuperación física, muchos estudios y médicos para que yo lograra volver a caminar. Fue una época de mucho reto - fue tan difícil para mi, que después de eso, no quería ni siquiera cantar, ni mucho menos estar en un escenario otra vez . Pero con mucho apoyo, paciencia, muchas ganas, y el amor infinito de mi familia y amigos lo logré. Volví a caminar! Finalmente, también logré terminal la Preparatoria e intenté con todas mis fuerzas irme a la Universidad, pero ese año siguiente no lo logré, ni tampoco el que le siguió. Me hacía falta la suma necesaria para alcanzar esa meta.
Recientemente, uno de mis sueños más grandes se hizo realidad - después de participar en una gran audición, fuí aceptada en el Conservatorio de Boston. Este año, llegó una carta en el correo para mi, dándome la bienvenida a la familia del Conservatorio! Que felicidad!
Pero, es una universidad muy cara. Por suerte, el Conservatorio me otorgó una beca, tengo algo de apoyo federal, saqué préstamos privados, y estoy dando de mi propio dinero para cubrir todos los gastos de la universidad. Mis padres me están ayudando de todas las formas posibles, pero aunque pudieran pagar toda mi colegiatura, también están mis hermanos. He intentado ir a la Universidad desde hace dos años porque yo sé que tengo mucho por aprender y mucho por crecer. Sé que puedo ser mejor en todos los aspectos - mejor cantante, actriz, bailarina y una mejor persona. Quiero serlo! Y sé que la universidad es una de las mejores maneras de llegar ahí. Pero no he tenido todos los medios financieros para hacerlo hasta ahora.
Gracias a Dios, hoy estoy danzando en un escenario una vez más, haciendo lo que amo y para lo que nací.
