Tables and Chairs for Ghanaian Sch.

Nothing is too small, Together we shall make an impact.

The story:  As a kid who was educated in the Ghanaian education system, my friends and I had our struggles going through school. There was a lack of  basic neccessities that were needed for a young brain to fully grasp what was being taught in class by a teacher who was very dedicated, however lacked the most basic tools to provide a better education. That teacher did his/her best to their abilities, and we fully knew they tried. (And that was in one of the major cities).

In 2013, after being out of Ghana for 10years, I went back home with my then 6 years old daughter to visit and also explore ways we  can give back. As a father, I wanted to introduce her to a different side of the world as we know and also let her know first hand what I wanted "us" to work on. It was whiles we were back in Ghana that we visited an orphanage that we ended up adopting in the small town of Akosombo that my daughter drew my attention to the plight of most rural Ghanaian school kids.  At that point, we then vowed to do our best to be part of the SOLUTION.

On February 3rd, 2016, a friend of mine from another charity organization reached out to us seeking our assistance by helping to  provide a tables and chairs for  rural schools in Ghana who still have no tables or chairs to sit on in class, instead sat on the bare floor during classes.
The children lie flat on the dirty bare floor to write because they are without furniture. Pupils, many of whom walk long distances from other rural areas to attend school, have to grapple for space on the floor due to the overcrowded nature of the classroom. In most classes, some teachers cannot walk through the class to supervise  class exercises.
The lack of desks in the classroom has made most of the pupils truants and drop outs, a situation that could negatively affect the future of the kids. Basic education is necessary in a child's upbringing.

Between April 6th- June 6th:  Only wish for my birthday is to raise enough funds to fully furnish two schools in Ghana (TBD)  with brand new tables and chairs to accommodate  each and every kid in the school. It will be a dream come true to show kids that we do care about their education, even from afar.
I am determined to make a dent in this unfortunate system. There are children yearning to get an education and change their destiny and the destiny of future many more to come. However, they do not  have the basic atmosphere to make this dream a reality.
Our Goal: Our goal is to raise $3000 dollars to purchase aproximately 200 tables and chairs for two schools.  100 tables and chairs each per school.

Delivery: The tables and chairs will be donated to the schools in the first week of August 2016.
