Boss Blend Coffee - Help Us Open our Cafe

Hello community,
I am Kalisha Carmichael, CEO and Founder of Boss Blend Coffee Co. We are a small-batch coffee company that launched in 2018. I started my own business to pay homage to my Afro Cuban Roots. As an Afro Latina, it is extremely important for me to maintain a safe space for my future team and prioritize the BIPOC community in my work—knowing that they come in each day, excited and listened to. The mission was to create a safe space for Black people to enjoy coffee culture. Boss Blend is a reminder that we deserve and can create our own artisanal, intentional, high-quality products. Since launching, I’ve self-funded this entire business.
Before COVID, I was working full time (an average of fifty hours a week) for other large companies. It was not fulfilling. I was exhausted, in predominantly white spaces and just finally knew it was time to invest 100% in my business. Like many of us, we live in a mindset of “if we want something, we must earn it ourselves.” As I am learning to become more vulnerable, with the help from my community and spirits, I am here sharing this kickstarter with you all.
In order to make Boss Blend Coffee Co. a financially stable reality, We need you! Every amount donated will go towards bringing you the coffee you’ve grown to love, in addition to making sure I can sustain a life for my kids, myself and my staff.
Here’s a brief breakdown of what your donations will help us accomplish.
1. Paying monthly rent , additional electric & Water costs
2 .Inventory ( Coffee, Cups, Tea, Straws, Cup Holders , etc)
4. New Flavors and Product Launches
6. Operational Machines :
- coffee grinders
- coffee brewing machines
- Coffee Scales
- cupping tools - water kettles
- DYMO printers - cambro containers & other food storage equipment
The list can go on, but I hope my transparency and breakdown has given you a look into how the funds will be distributed. To everyone who donated, shared, and sent our GoFundMe to friends/family/coworkers, so far, we can't thank you enough!
