Borinquén Love: Hurricane Relief

Hey friends and family! I know that Hurricane Maria has affected all of us, and it has been difficult not knowing how to take action to help our loved ones in Puerto Rico. As we all have been brainstorming and fundraising, I thought why not get together as a fam and start a small fundraiser to send some basic supplies them. In particular I am thinking about sending two fold up, 100 watt solar panels to the Santos and Perez households. They can take their car batteries out, and connect the panel to it. If someone has direct contact with them, can you ask if they have a big battery like that or if they could use the car battery without a problem? This would be sufficient power to charge their phones, run fans and lights, and whatever else they need. Each one is $189.00. I chose the goal of $1000,00 to get two, mailing funds, and more funds for other supplies ya'll think of; extension cords, surge protectors etc. Also, if there is another family member I am missing perhaps we can include them. As soon as we reach some or all of our goal, I will order them and send them via post office from LA. Please leave comments for ideas. Check out the link for the panels. Thanks!
