BORGHESE, Short Film: Finishing Funds
Donation protected
BORGHESE will be a short film on the 16th-century gay cardinal and art collector, Scipione Borghese. It is a portrait of a machiavellian man who has built his life upon his dreams and the endless pursuit of desire; a man who through murder, seduction, and power accumulated hoards of wealth, art, land and lovers. The film is to be a work dedicated to the memory of Derek Jarman and exist as a footnote to his oeuvre.
Vincenzo Crea will star as Borghese, Hamish Bowles as the Pope, Gianluca Longo as Cardinal Aldobrandini, Nick Hornby as Bernini, and James Mackie as Camerlengo.
The entire 20-minute film will be shot in a contemporary art gallery in London. The work draw upon Ovidian transformations, Dante’s Contrapasso, Spinozian and Schopenhaurian philosophy, asceticism and hedonism, authenticity and deception, and the culture of sexuality.
Any contribution at all will be immensely helpful in the production of the film and deeply cherished.
With infinite gratitude
Yours,
