Borealis Academy Site Fund
We at Borealis Academy are a group of volunteers that are striving to spread knowledge through a MOOC-based course system, (Massively Open Online Course). We aim to teach and develop skills including, but not limited to, creative writing, reading comprehension, critical thinking, maths, sciences, horticulture, first aid, and self defense through the guise of a whimsical fantasy world. Our values also promote diversity and tolerance, with community and education at the forefront.
Our team has currently faced several setbacks, with two different volunteer web designers leaving the project to focus solely on their careers, and one leaving due to medical issues. Now, we're stepping it up and going into contract with a paid site developer. This isn't cheap, however, and our team has already pooled as much as we can from our personal accounts to pay for the site creation.
This is where we hope all of you will come in! As we do everything we can to pull from our own pockets, we are hoping our student base, and even those who may not be interested participating with the site, can contribute to the creation of our high quality online school!
Anyone who contributes will receive on-site currency, called Tanners, to use for various virtual products! There are also some very special rewards for our biggest contributers, including a spot on our about page!
