Border Stories Project

The Border Stories Project seeks to explain, in a simple way, some of the most important challenges and opportunities that the two countries share through their border, which more than one million people, over more than 3000 km, cross every day.

The Border Stories Project aims to document personal stories at the border to contribute to an informed debate about the bilateral relations and the social, economic, and political implications they have on the people who live on both sides of the border. For this purpose, we will be riding our bicycles for several weeks along the border and publish a chronicle of our trip.

We consider a bicycle trip will allow us to be closer to the people and their environment. At the same time, the physical effort required to cycle will allow us to experience first-hand the extreme weather conditions in which many people work, live, and risk their lives when crossing this border in search of better opportunities.

In a simple and accessible format, the project aims to relate the dialogue between the complex border infrastructures and the social fabrics as ephemeral and intangible shelters that after centuries remain coexisting. For this purpose, we will also be taking pictures and videos to accompany the text of our chronicle.

We hope you will enjoy the ride and the content we will be generating. Also, we will be very grateful to receive your advice and recommendations to make our trip an even more fruitful experience.
