Xavier is a fun loving and active 9 year old who has a rare disease called CMT-2 ( charcot-marie-tooth). This disease affects his muscle function, grip and mobility. Xavier likes the outdoors and being active despite the limitations he faces due to his physical disability.
In order to support his physical therapy, muscle development and fitness goals, I would like to purchase a custom Rifton adaptive bike for Xavier. The bike has the ability to improve Xavier's indepence, improve his range of motion and create opportunities for socializing with his peers. The ease in which Xavier will be able to get on and off of the bike and maneuver the bike with various adaptive supports will have long lasting benefits on his confidence regarding his physical abilities.
Unfortunately, medical insurance does not cover this form of equipment. Any financial support that you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
