Boost Bridget's Freelance Startup

Hi, my name is Bridget! I am looking for temporary assistance while I redevelop my dormant freelance business.

Why is my home business dormant? For over a decade, I provided administrative support for a nonprofit performing arts organization. At the beginning, I also maintained my home business and worked at other part-time jobs, but in the past few years, due to increased company needs related to COVID-19, I gave up my home business and personal activities in favor of the job. I don't regret this; it was my pleasure and privilege to support young artists as they grew to adulthood, and I treasure the people I worked with and for. Unfortunately, escalating health problems over 2022 made it impossible to continue in the position, or any job that does not allow frequent rest breaks. I have thus returned to freelance work, which allows me to set my schedule and take care of my health. I am a fiction editor, transcript editor, and artist creating jewelry, photography, and original fantasy art. I have also registered for digital arts classes at the local community college to update my skills, and am the sole support of two adult children who are also community college students, Mark studying game design and Maddie still finding her path, but leaning towards chemistry.

I am confident I have the skills and connections to support our family with my freelance work, as I have done before. However, several years out of the hustle sadly means rebuilding my home business infrastructure, routines, and connections. As an added blow, shortly after my last day of work for the company, I contracted my first case of COVID, which lost me two weeks of freelance marketing and work. I have several revenue streams building, but none have yet developed to the point of dependability.

I am seeking funds to help make food, car, phone, utility, and other monthly payments for the next few weeks. This would give me time to get my business ventures up and running. There's just a lot to do to get started, and my health does not allow me to put in the 12-hour days I was once accustomed to.

Funds raised will go to living expenses for the family; anything beyond our basic needs will be invested in basic equipment or materials for the business. We don't have or need a lavish lifestyle, but we do like being alive!
