Boomtown has weathered a lot of (literal and figurative) storms, but this might be the most difficult one yet. It’s heartbreaking to tell our Crü we can’t give them shifts, or that we have to close Main. Just a few weeks ago, we would never have imagined having to make such agonizingly hard decisions.
Any and all funds raised will be dispersed among the staff members we had to part with. Boomtown has always considered itself a place within the Houston community where guests were welcome to gather in a safe and fun environment. That environment wouldn't have existed without the faces that many of you have come expect to see behind our counters. They were the ones who remembered your name every morning or how you like your latte. They made sure to give your furry, four-legged friend just as much attention as the latte art in your cup. They ensured that the same level of passion you have for our product was matched by the amount that goes into making it.
If you remember a time when you sat in one of our cafes, sipping a coffee with friend or making sure that every single crumb from your Boomtown taco was accounted for, please consider donating to our fund. It's difficult to think about all the ways our lives have changed in such a short amount of time but we have been finding comfort in the unchanging amount of care and love that we still and always have had as a community.
