The Sleeping Storyteller's BOOKS@HOME Campaign

The Sleeping Storyteller's BOOKS AT HOME CAMPAIGN gifts books to children living in low income areas, inspires children to get excited about reading to each other and themselves, to fall in love with stories and books, as well as enabling them pay forward kindness.  EVERY £2 THAT YOU DONATE PAYS FOR A CHILD TO TAKE HOME THEIR OWN BOOK ...  but that is not where the fun ends!



Award Winning Author, Cheryl Beer, visits Primary Schools in low income areas, but rather than simply gift the books, she runs Story Workshops and  helps the children and teachers to set up a 10 Story Read-a-thon Challenge. 


The children are  gifted books from your donations to read and keep for themselves or pass on to friends and siblings, as long as they get Sponsorship for their Read-a-thon and pass your kindness on, by gifting story books to other children.


So, for instance, these pictures are from the  Penygaer Primary School Read -A Thon. They were gifted 30 books funded from your donations and decided to hold a Picnic Read-A-Thon so that they in turn, can  donate books to the Awakening Wellness Show being held in Pembrokeshire, to raise funds for children who are currently receiving palliative care.


For every £2.00 that you donate, sponsor or raise, one of The Sleeping Storyteller's pocket sized books is gifted to a child as part of the Campaign.

Last year, The National Literature Trust found that 1 in 8 children from low income areas, do not have books at home! Together we can change that by empowering children to be part of their own solution.
