KIPP Massachusetts is part of a national network of open enrollment, tuition-free, public charter schools. We have grown from educating 360 students in 2010 to educating 1,700 students in 2017 in Lynn and Boston’s most economically disadvantaged neighborhoods, wherever the achievement gap persists, serving student demographics that mirror those of neighborhood schools in terms of race, socioeconomic status, English Language Learners, and Special Education students.
Our mission is to provide underserved students with the academic skills, intellectual habits and character traits necessary to maximize their potential in college and the world beyond.
Our promise to students and families is that their children will enter college able to thrive academically due to their literacy, numeracy, and core knowledge in science and social studies. These students will be able to return to their community as teachers, leaders, and architects of continued growth in Lynn and Boston.
As we open new schools to students who deserve a quality education, we need to provide our students with more books that they can dive into, enjoy and learn from in our classrooms. In order to instill a love of reading and improve literacy skills for our students, they need access to great books.
SOLUTION: More great books!
We have a list of 100 books we would like to purchase for our students. Each book costs an average of $10. To purchase 100 paperback books our goal is $1,000. Every little bit helps and our students and teachers greatly appreciate the donations!
