I am Kwabena Lartey, a Harvard graduate student, who founded Books for Him and Her to provide access to sexual and reproductive resources as well as school learning materials for kids living in Boadi, Kumasi.
At Books for Him & Her, we're working ensure that every young child living in Ghana is enabled to make healthy sex choices and decisions. Since 2018, our team has delivered several trainings to over 200 young people in Ghana through a combination of a virtual and in-person platform. We are currently creating a dedicated physical space where we can provide on-site sexual health education, skills training, and a place for kids to do their homework or read a story book!
In February/March 2021, we are piloting our sexual health curriculum and skills training project among a cohort of 10 adolescents within the Boadi community. And that's why we need you to help. Every amount you donate goes into procuring textbooks, compensating youth trainers and providing sexual health resources to the children who will be enrolled. We are excited to kick-start this, but we can't do this alone.
We are confident that this project will help increase the self-confidence of the children within the community as they navigate their sexual growth.
