According to the United States Department of Education, more than 85% of America’s black male K-12 students are not proficient in reading. In an increasingly global and knowledge-based economy, poor reading skills among young black boys today will produce millions of black male high school dropouts who are unprepared to compete in the workforce of tomorrow.

The Brilliant Brown Boys Book Club was created to boost Brown Boys reading confidence, spark a passion for reading, and provide access to culturally relevant books with positive black characters.
Every month we invite a Brilliant Brown Man from various industries to come out and read to our boys.
We are a fairly new nonprofit organization and is currently fundraising to purchase a vehicle to be used as our bookmobile. This will help us pick up donated books and deliver to our participants across the city on a regular basis.
When the COVID-19 pandemic is over we will be able to pick up members for monthly sessions in addition to field trips.
