<div>Invest in the Infrastructure for the Future of Left Ideas
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Ours is an era of intensifying crisis—and radical ideas have never been so needed. But unlike the well-funded right, the left lacks enduring institutions to foster and disseminate ideas. Most left organizations founded over the last half century no longer exist. Those that have survived tend to have one thing in common: they own their building outright, giving them financial stability and protection from the caprices of the market.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Approaching our 20th year, we at PM Press have published almost 700 books about building a more just world and the road to get there, by the likes of Silvia Federici, Akilah Richards, Tomoyuki Hoshino, C.L.R. James, Ursula Le Guin, Cory Doctorow, Nisi Shawl, Kim Stanley Robinson, Louis Karoniaktajeh Hall, and Peter Linebaugh. <strong>Our vast 18,000 square foot warehouse in upstate New York is the bedrock of what we do. </strong>It gives us the logistical wherewithal to table at hundreds of events each year around the country—bookfairs, conferences, demonstrations, rock concerts, and much in between. The warehouse allows us to distribute not only our own publications but those of other left institutions, such as Labor Notes and Working Class History. It is the site of a yearly radical regional bookfair, bringing left ideas and people together across rural upstate New York, and an ongoing space for local community groups. In a time of isolation and atomization intensified by social media, our priority is distributing radical literature face to face in the real world.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>We need to shore up this vital left institution—for the present and for the future—and we’re asking for your help. </strong>At the start of 2027, interest payments on our mortgage will increase substantially. <strong>We would like to enlist your help in paying off our mortgage entirely to ensure this project’s future in these precarious times.</strong> And, fighting not just for bread but for roses too, once we fully own the means of distribution, we’d like to adorn the building with a mural celebrating collective struggle.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We are asking those of you who would like to create a lasting legacy for left publishing and ideas to come through right now. Please give as generously as you're able, in the struggle for a better world for all.
</div>

<div>“PM’s range is vast—coloring books and cookbooks, polemics, memoirs, novels, pamphlets, treatises, manifestos, and comics. PM’s topics are encyclopedic—bicycles, vegetables, squatting, sex, soccer, punks, Wobblies, self-defense, fathering, mothering, striking, sitting in, you name it. PM is an altogether terrific outfit keeping the flags flying—red, black, and rainbow.”

<div>"PM Press has been instrumental in bringing my work to readers across the globe, but it’s not just my work. They’ve built a platform for countless radical voices that might otherwise be silenced. PM Press proves that radical ideas can thrive outside the corporate machine. Their work doesn’t just publish books, it builds movements. Supporting PM Press means investing in a future where voices of dissent, creativity, and liberation are not only heard but amplified."

<div>"PM Press is a force for good and a force of nature. It's hard to believe it's only been 20 years, if only because it's hard to imagine a world without PM in it. Of course, that goes for the future just as much as the past. The world needs PM, and PM needs our support."

<div>"What does the left need to expand and solidify? Critical thinking and ideas, of course. And creative collective actions that force concessions from the classes in power. And then the mingling of those two... theory and practice, the on-going democratic dialogue from below that keeps us grounded, fuels our resolve, and aims us high. Without structures and spaces to maintain this essential mingling, we squander much of what could be harnessed. How fortunate we are to have the structure and space created for us by PM Press... publishing books that do just this work, distributing, promoting, and supporting the ideas that illuminate the struggle, and making a home for the authors whose experience would otherwise be orphaned in the commodified world of publishing. It's needed and it's here. We should nourish PM and help it continue to nourish the left." <strong>–Ellen David Friedman, Labor Notes Board Chair</strong>

During the hard times we now face, PM provides us with invaluable materials that help us understand the world we live in and what can and must be done to make it better.
