Book Bag Drive for Woman’s Academy of Excellence

In the heart of the Bronx, the young women of Woman’s Academy of Excellence are striving to succeed—often while facing challenges far beyond the classroom. Many come from families working hard just to cover basic necessities, making the cost of backpacks and school supplies a heavy burden.

Without the right tools, it’s harder for these girls to walk into school confident and ready to learn. That’s why we’re stepping in.

Our Book Bag Drive will provide brand-new backpacks filled with essential supplies—notebooks, pens, folders, and more—to ensure that each student starts the year prepared. But this is about more than school supplies. It’s about giving these young women a sense of dignity, pride, and the message that their community believes in their potential.

Why this matters for the Bronx:

Many local families face economic hardship, leaving little room for back-to-school expenses.

Access to basic supplies helps level the playing field, so every girl can focus on learning—not worrying about what she doesn’t have.

A prepared student is more engaged, more confident, and more likely to succeed academically and beyond.
