Dave “Boogie” Watson and I are pretty great friends. We met in NYC through the photography rental house world in 2010, and quickly realized we are kindred spirits. We’ve banked years of stories, laughter, watching each other‘s cats, and just general stone cold chillin’. We got each other’s backs. And right now, we need each other’s support (and potentially yours) more than ever.
For those of you that don’t know him, Dave had a series of strokes in September 2013. His condition was initially misdiagnosed, and several critical hours were lost in the error. He suffered a long recovery in the hospital, and had to relearn everything from walking to writing. And he conquered those tasks, over time and with hard work. But the one area that has remained impaired is his speech. He is cognizant, eloquent, and fluid in his writing, but verbal speech has evaded him. After years of failed results with therapy and a subsequent lack of confidence, Dave’s state of mind and spirit have plummeted. Friends + family have tried to find solutions, but to no avail.
But it is time to make a BIG change. No more excuses, fears, or blockages. So we have decided to embark on a new journey. Dave + I have agreed to participate together in the Landmark Forum in early 2018. If you are not familiar with this program, here is a link to their website: www.landmarkworldwide.com
I am not joining to be {just} support for him; I also have many things to rediscover and reclaim in my own life. We both strongly feel we will each benefit in multiple aspects and be able to show ourselves and the world the best versions of who we are. The time is NOW! We are READY!
Maybe his speech won’t come back (or maybe it will!), but that’s not the biggest concern. More importantly, it’s time to gain back self-love, respect, power, confidence, and the will to make the most out of life.
And yes, these things cost money. To be clear, the Landmark Forum has a tuition of $745/each. We don’t have a lot of flow. Chances are, you don’t either. Especially at this time of year. But even if you throw $1 our way, it is deeply appreciated. Can’t make it rain? No worries. Just send some LOVE, SUPPORT + FOCUS our way.
