Bonny's Battle: Her Fight To Heal

These past 18 months have been a true test of strength, perseverance, and family togetherness.  It was in April of 2016 that my mom’s life was changed in a way that was so confusing to us, her closest family. She was given a prescription medication called Levofloxacin and at the time, she had no idea what the risks of taking this strong drug were.  A simple case of bronchitis altered her life and ours. Within 3 weeks, she had such severe pain and could not walk.  It seemed to get worse quite quickly and she had to leave the job she loved at the daycare.  From then on, the struggles to do normal life things around the house have been hard for her. There were many specialist appointments to try and understand and figure out what was all going on in her body. The hardest thing to watch is our mom suffering when a “flare up” happens and how her body is in a full blown pain attack. My mom has completely “lost” her life. She can hardly hold her grandkids, she can hardly do things around her home and she can’t even go on dates with her own husband. My mom has been on 16 different prescription meds all of which have been stopped or altered because they were not helping the issue.  Many of these prescriptions also carried side effects of their own. She has been at a point that her body is just rejecting them. My dad has done everything to research the effects of this medication. Her cells have been damaged. They need to be rejuvenated to make healthy cells. They found a place called the Centre for Natural Pain Solutions.  They had their first meeting with Dr. Sean Ceaser (10/1117) and for the first time, my mom felt optimistic about the treatments.  The treatments are scheduled to begin 10/16/17. These treatments are not covered by Manitoba Medical and are quite costly. If you know my mother you will know she is one of the most selfless, loving, caring and positive people you could ever meet.  My parents financial situation is not in a place to be able to afford these treatments without it putting a huge strain on their life which I want to avoid at all costs.  My parents are ones that NEVER ask for anything and are always found helping others out even when they have their own struggles to deal with.  I ask for your help in being able to give my mom the treatment we have been searching for these past 18 months.  I want to have my mom back, I want her to have her life back and I want my family to be able to breathe again without the fear of her body continuing to deteriorate.  I want to thank anyone and everyone who took the time to read this and for helping out one of the strongest women I know who not only did not deserve this but who continues to fight this battle with such grace.
