Bonnie's Got a Bad Belly

Our amazing silly rescue dog, Bonnie, went from a healthy wagging pup to a very very ill buddy in just a few minutes. She needed to be rushed to the ER on Tuesday night where she was diagnosed with HGE or Hemorrhagic Gastroenteritis. There is no known cause, but if not caught quickly, it can be life threatening.
She was in shock by the time we pulled up to the ER, and needed to be immediately brought back. After a couple of days in the hospital, she has been sent home to try to recover better since she was dealing with a lot of anxiety and not eating in the hospital and therefor, not improving very much. She is home now, but still not eating and needs someone with her at all times to monitor that she is not bleeding or her condition worsening.
We feel weird asking, but any little bit would help us to focus on getting Bonnie better. She is now on several medications and will have to see an internal medicine vet to rule out any other reasons that this could have occurred. The bleeding was profuse and how quickly she went into shock was a big concern for the vets.
If you have ever met Bonnie, you know how silly, gentle, and sweet she is. She is truly a part of our family and Gorgi's best friend in the world, so she is a dear and integral part of our lives. Her first instinct when we went to pick her up at the hospital was to go over and comfort a person who was very distraught about their dog who had just been rushed in. Even though she was so weak and in pain herself, she walked right over to him, sat as his feet, and nuzzled his hand. She is really just the sweetest.
