Bonnie & Her Brace

Hello friends!

My name is Lisa Nicole Grace Evangelos. I am 37 years old, married to my husband Jered, mum to Asher (7) and Wren (5). I am a singer/songwriter, an administrator, and a business owner. 

27 years ago I was diagnosed with scoliosis, which means my spine was crooked! I was prescribed a back brace, which I wore for almost 7 years, until I had back surgery! November 10th marks 20 years since I had spinal fusion surgery for my scoliosis. 20 years!!

This summer I had a dream that I wrote a children's book called "Bonnie & Her Brace" about a young girl who finds out she has scoliosis and gets a back brace. 

In my dream this book had a light and encouraging tone and taught kids about what scoliosis is, explained some of the terms the doctors used in the scoliosis clinic, and in general educated and comforted those newly diagnosed. 

My dream has come to life! I have written "Bonnie & Her Brace." With the book written, now I need to have it illustrated and published, and I need your help!

This book will be a wonderful resource in scoliosis clinics across the province and country, heck maybe even the world! I sure wish I had something like it when I was diagnosed.
