Bonham's Road to Recovery

Dear Friends and Family:
This is difficult not only to talk about but to ask... but we’ve learned through God, that sometimes we need to reach out for help.
Our family has gone through what feels like a lifetime of waiting for this moment to come and it is finally here. Our brother Bonham has suffered with major drug addiction, specifically heroin, for almost half of his life. We have had very little contact and no relationship with him for over 5 years. He has been struggling immensely with the grasp that heroin has on his life while also homeless in Santa Cruz. In January of this year he wound up in jail for a longer period of time than he has been accustomed to. This helped clear his head and Bonham came to a crossroads, either change his life or die on the streets of Santa Cruz, unfortunately, like so many other heroin addicts do. He has decided to change his life and get help because he knows that if it’s not now it might be never. He wants to be back with his family, friends and to also become a functioning part of society again. He has made the decision after years of struggling to try and free himself of his battle with addiction, but he needs all the help he can possibly get. He has fully committed to getting help and we are sending him to a long-term rehabilitation program that will truly free him and teach him the ways of sober living. We are sending him to a Rehab Facilitation in Santa Barbara called “Recovery Ranch Drug Rehab Santa Barbara CA: Men’s Sober Living.” It will cost us $7000 for a down payment plus $500 each month, which they have been a blessing working with us to have the lowest payment plan possible. He will be here for a one year minimum commitment to learn structure, accountability, and his true self again. From this long term lesson we hope to see him be self sufficient and turn his terrible addiction history into a testimony. He could help so many people in this world struggling with the heart-breaking opioid epidemic after he helps himself.
Our family could not want anything more than for Bonham to be free from his shackles and be back in our lives. If there is any amount you could donate to help our family and Bonham in this battle of a journey, it would mean the world. Here is a go-fund-me account we have set up. Thank you, with all of our love and appreciation.

And here is a few photos of after drugs overcame him. We are hoping to have the healthy happy Bonham that we used to have and love back.
